 Company history

Samantha's Handygal Services has been in business for a few years now with mostly word of mouth.  The "White Handygal Van" is  being spotted all over Carson City, Minden, Gardnerville, and Dayton.  The list of references grows day by day.  If you need a reference for a job, just drop an e-mal or call, and I'll be happy to accommodate you.

Samantha's History

Just a little bit about me, just so you know where I come from...

Raised in Guatemala, my native language is Spanish.  Yes, I do have an accent but nobody can figure out where it is from.

I went to college in Mexico to study Electrical Engineering, but graduated with a degree in Computer Science.  I moved to Silicon Valley in 1984 and worked there for several different computer companies doing software engineering.  I bought my first house in 1993 and decided to remodel it myself.  I learned a lot about what do to and what not to do.

Retired in 1998 wanting to have a complete change of scene.  After moving to Nevada attended the police academy and became a deputy Sheriff in Winnemucca.  I also worked for several other departments.  Due to my background I always ended up doing computer stuff, if not developing software for law enforcement applications, then doing cyber crime investigations.
Retired again in 2004 and opened a flight school.  Yes, I am also a pilot and a licensed  aircraft mechanic.  Flight training, not being a mainstream activity and therefore not producing much income, forced me to do something else.  Not knowing what to do, a friend of mine suggested that I offer for hire the services that I had always done for her for free (fixing things, building stuff, etc.).  Since I enjoyed doing these activities I decided to give it a try.  To my surprise, the business took off like wildfire!

So here I am.  A handygal with a diverse background, and lots of stories to tell.
